VICKSBURG, Miss. — WVBG Radio’s Mandy Harris continues to expand her presence on the national sports stage after covering several major sporting events across the country in recent months.
In April, Harris traveled to Pittsburgh to help provide live coverage of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft alongside Marty May and David Wilson. The trio represented both the station and Mississippi while delivering draft coverage and interviews from one of the NFL’s biggest annual events.
Harris has also remained active across Mississippi’s sports scene. Earlier this spring, she photographed the annual Governor’s Cup baseball game between Ole Miss and Mississippi State University at Trustmark Park.
Shortly after the draft, Harris was invited to Frisco, Texas, where she had the opportunity to photograph the National Soccer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. The event featured some of the sport’s most recognizable figures and marked another milestone in Harris’ growing sports photography and media career.
Harris’ busy schedule is continuing into the summer as she has now been invited to photograph two major United States Men’s National Team events ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
She will photograph the official USMNT roster reveal today before traveling to Chicago for the Coca-Cola Farewell Match, where the United States will face Germany on June 6 in the team’s final showcase match before World Cup play begins on June 11.
“I’m extremely thankful for these opportunities,” Harris said. “Being able to cover these events, meet incredible people and continue growing in both broadcasting and photography has been an amazing experience.” “I never thought I would be making money taking pictures but especially not on a national platform.”
Harris has become increasingly involved in national sports media coverage over the last several years, combining her work in radio broadcasting with photography and sports journalism.
WVBG Radio continues to provide local listeners with coverage from major sporting events through its stations and online platforms. You can listen to the WVBG locally on 105.5 and 107.7. You can also listen to the stream anywhere in the world on vicksburgradio.com.
