For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 0 degrees are expected, with subfreezing wind chills as low as 2 degrees below zero possible. For the Cold Weather Advisory, dangerously cold wind chills as low as 5 degrees above zero are expected. Lows will be around 15 degrees tonight and between 10 to 15 degrees Saturday night.

IMPACTS
An extended period of freezing temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes. Very cold wind chills and temperatures can lead to frostbite and hypothermia, especially with prolonged exposure and if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures and wind chills. Extensive power outages and snow and ice cover persist from previous ice storm. This dangerous cold will only exacerbate the impacts felt in those affected areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Strong gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph will result in even lower wind chills at times tonight and Saturday. This could complicate remaining power restoration efforts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Drain in-ground sprinkler systems and cover above ground pipes. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
