Mildred Claire Hutchinson Rone passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born December 28, 1933, in Vicksburg, MS to John Crawford Hutchinson, Sr. and Frances Worthington Hutchinson.
Mildred graduated from Carr Central High School. She then graduated from Texas State College for Women where she earned her degree in social work. She worked for the Warren County Health Department immediately after college. She went back to college to get a teaching degree and worked for the Vicksburg School District until she retired in 1983. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Vicksburg Garden Club in her younger years. She was actively involved in the B.P.O.E. #95 Ladies of the Elk. She loved cooking, fishing, animals, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carlton Rone, Sr.; children Carlton Rone, Jr. and Mary Frances Rone; brothers Harry Hutchinson and John C. Hutchinson, Jr.; and her sister Eleanor Curtis.
She is survived by her son James Rone; daughters Lori Evans (Greg) and Eleanor Phillips (Greg); grandchildren Stephanie Robert, Lisa Ravenberg (Brett), Michael Evans (Emily), John Phillips and Laura Phillips; great-grandchildren Lucas, Joe, and Matthew Robert; Evelyn, Thomas, Henry, and Claire Ravenberg; and George and Issac Evans; step-brother Phillip Hullum; step-sisters Ruth Gay and Jean Sneed and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Glenwood Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tim Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow the service in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery in Vicksburg, MS.
Pallbearers will be Lucas Robert, John Phillips, Michael Evans, John Stimage, Bert Winschel and Brett Ravenberg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Vicksburg Catholic Schools
