Ward 1 Alderman T.J. Mayfield will hold a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, at Springhill Church, 815 Mission 66 in Vicksburg. The event will focus on key issues affecting the community, including recurring power outages, infrastructure needs, and education.

Joining Mayfield for a panel discussion will be Public Service Commissioner De’Keither Stamps, Central Mississippi Transportation Commissioner Willie Simmons, District 55 Rep. Oscar Denton, and Vicksburg School Board President Jim Stirgus. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from both state and local leaders.

Discussion topics will cover improving utility reliability, investing in roads and bridges, and strengthening educational opportunities.

“This town hall is about bringing people together—community leaders and residents alike—for an open conversation about the challenges we face and the opportunities ahead,” Mayfield said. “By working together, we can make meaningful progress on issues like power reliability, infrastructure, and education. I am committed to using these partnerships to help build a stronger Ward 1 in Vicksburg.” Residents are encouraged to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
