The Night Sky
Tonight and tomorrow night, the Southern Taurids meteor shower reaches its peak! Known for their bright, colorful fireballs, these meteors move slower than most β giving you a few magical seconds to watch them burn across the sky.
β’ Around 5β10 meteors per hour, but often larger and more vivid than usual.
β’ Some will glow in green, gold, or orange hues, leaving long-lasting trails.
β’ Best seen after midnight, under dark, clear skies away from city lights.
Find an open spot with a wide view of the sky β look east or south, relax, and let your eyes adjust to the darkness.
The Taurids are fragments from Comet Encke, one of the oldest comets still crossing Earthβs orbit. Each streak you see tonight is a tiny cosmic relic β a glowing whisper from the dawn of our Solar System.
