[email protected]JACKSON, MS – Following official guidance from the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS) will issue full November SNAP benefits as soon as possible.

MDHS will begin issuance as soon as possible to clients with issuance dates of November 4th through 13th This follows the announcement of partial benefit issuance on Monday.

Clients with issuance dates between November 14th and 21st will receive full benefits on their regularly scheduled issuance date.  Per current USDA FNS guidance, December benefits are expected to be issued on time.

SNAP recipients are advised to:

·         Register for a Connect EBT account and save ConnectEBT to their cell phone home screen to change their PIN after every use to reduce their risk of being the victim of fraud and skimming. (See TUTORIAL)

·         Monitor all account transactions and report any suspicious activity to MDHS. https://www.mdhs.ms.gov/help/snap/snap-fraud/

·         Ensure all case information is current to avoid interruptions in benefits.

·         Follow MDHS social media channels for the latest updates on additional benefit funding and program announcements.

FAQs

1.      If I received partial benefits, will I receive the rest of my November benefits? YesMDHS will begin issuing remaining November SNAP benefits as soon as possible.

2.      When will my SNAP benefits be issued? MDHS will begin issuing the difference between the prorated November allotment and the approved full November allotment as soon as possible to clients with issuance dates of November 4th through November 13th. Clients with issuance dates between November 14th and 21st will receive full benefits on their regularly scheduled issuance date.

3.      Will I receive my December SNAP benefits? Yes. SNAP recipients will receive their normal benefit amount on their regularly scheduled issuance date.

4.      Do I need to do anything to receive my remaining benefits for November? Typically, no. You don’t have to do anything to receive your benefits. However, you should:

1.      Ensure all household information is up to date on the Common Web Portal.

2.      Register for a ConnectEBT account to change your PIN if you have not already.

3.      Monitor your account transactions and report any suspicious activity.

5.      What should I do if I notice unauthorized transactions or suspect EBT skimming? Report any suspicious activity at https://www.mdhs.ms.gov/help/snap/snap-fraud/.

6.      What is ConnectEBT and how do I register? ConnectEBT is a secure online and mobile platform that allows you to:

·         View your balance and transaction history

·         Manage and monitor your account

·         Change your EBT card PIN
