On Wednesday, October 24, 2025, Divine Donuts on Clay Street announced that they will be closing their doors after 45 years serving Vicksburg. Divine Donuts, originally Shipley’s Donuts, has been opened since 1979. In 2016, Becky Curry Yelverton parted ways with the franchise and rebranded as Divine Donuts. Yelverton passed away in 2021.
The other two locations, 3424 Halls Ferry Road and 855 Highway 61 North will remain open.

It is with a heavy heart that we are writing to inform you that effective September 25, 2025 our Clay Street location will be closed due to lack of workers.
This was a difficult decision, but it was necessary due to ongoing staffing shortages that have impacted our ability to provide the quality of product and service you expect and deserve. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to build and maintain the team needed to run Divine Donuts effectively.
We want to express our sincerest gratitude for your loyalty and support over the years. Since 1978 we have valued every opportunity to serve you and appreciate your understanding of this difficult situation.
